FAQ
Common questions.
Straightforward answers about how engagements work, what access is needed, and what you get at the end.
I am not technical. Can I still work with you?
›
Yes. Most of my clients are not IT people. They run a business and need their Microsoft 365 to work properly and securely. I explain everything in plain language, tell you what matters and what does not, and never bury you in jargon. You do not need to understand the technical detail. That is my job.
You are an independent consultant. Why is that better than hiring a large firm?
›
With a large firm, the senior expert scopes your project and then a junior staff member often does the actual work. With me, the person you speak with is the person doing the work, every time. You get senior expertise directly, with no layers and no handoffs.
What access do you need to our Microsoft 365 environment, and is our data safe?
›
I start with read-only access, which lets me audit your environment without changing anything. Any changes happen only after you approve them in writing. You keep full control of your tenant throughout and can revoke my access at any time. I never move or copy your data outside your own environment.
What happens if something goes wrong during a migration?
›
Every migration has a tested rollback plan before work begins. I work in stages so your team stays productive and nothing changes all at once. If an issue appears, we step back to the last known good state. Downtime is the rare exception, not the norm, because the planning happens before any changes are made.
Do you sell or resell Microsoft licenses?
›
No. I take no commissions from Microsoft or any vendor. My only income is the fixed fee you agree to upfront. That means my advice is based entirely on what is right for you, including telling you where you are overpaying and how to reduce your costs.
Do you offer ongoing support after the project ends?
›
Every project includes full documentation you own and 30 days of post-launch support. After that, your environment is documented so your own team, or any future IT provider, can maintain it without depending on me. I do not offer ongoing retainers or managed services.
How does fixed-fee pricing work if the scope changes?
›
You approve the full cost in writing before any work starts. If something material changes during the project, we discuss it and agree on it before any extra work happens. No surprise invoices, ever.
We may be in a different time zone. Is remote delivery a problem?
›
No. All work is delivered remotely, which is standard for Microsoft 365 consulting. You get a weekly written status update, a live change log, and scheduled calls that fit your working hours. Most communication is written and async, so progress never waits on a meeting.
Do you work with businesses in our industry?
›
Microsoft 365 works the same way whether you run a law firm, a manufacturing business, a charity, or a logistics company. The security, identity, and email principles are consistent across industries. What changes is your specific compliance requirements and workflows, which we cover during the audit.
How do we get started?
›
Book a free 30-minute discovery call. I ask where it hurts, you tell me what you have tried, and I give you an honest view of whether I can help and what it would cost. No sales pitch, no obligation. If I am not the right fit, I will say so.
